Blarbuie Woodlands and Scottish Mental Health Film and Arts Festival

This Festival runs from 1st to 24th October, during which time Blarbuie Woodland Enterprise will be hosting and organising a number of richly varied events throughout Argyll and Bute.

Insightful poetry will be on screens in Libraries in Campbeltown, Dunoon, Helensburgh, Lochgilphead, Oban and Rothesay for the duration of the event.

On Thursday 4th October from 7-8pm and on Saturday 6th October from 4–5pm, there will be a screening of two Blarbuie Woodland films:

  • ‘Healthy Woods Healthy People’
  • ‘Who cares for the Yellow Forest?’

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy  a full-cinema silver screen experience at the Mid Argyll Youth Project in Union Street, Lochgilphead.

On Sunday 7th October from 4–9pm and on Sunday 21st October from 4–9pm, at the Slainte Bar in Ardrishaig, are there open mic sessions and open music with the band ‘Sanctuary’.

And on Friday 19th October, from 3–9pm and on Saturday 20th October from 3–9pm at Blarbuie Woodland [by the Hospitals] in Lochgilphead, there will be a market event with crafts, games, walks, lights, music and poetry.  This is an opportunity for everyone to come and see the woods as they will not have seen them before.

The Blarbuie Woodlands initiative has been an imaginative and life enhancing one from the outset, with the lovely woods open to everyone and accessed from the car park at the Mid Argyll Community Hospital in Lochgilphead.
