Wildlife artist, Derek Robertson, has an outdoor exhibition at the fabulous Piggery at the Taynish National Nature Reserve in Knapdale, already begun and running to 26th October 2013.
This is one of the events sponsored by Scottish Natural Heritage as part of the organisation’s contributions to the Year of Natural Scotland, 2013.
There are two additional associated events, both free but both requiring booking.
Derek Robertson is taking a Sketching Workshop at The Mill at Taynish, at 2pm on Saturday 26th October, the day his exhibition ends.
That evening, at 7pm at SNH offices at No 1 Kilmory Estate in Lochgilphead, he is giving a talk and demonstration at which refreshments will be provided.
To book for either of these last two events, contact Caroline Anderson:

You can see some of Derek Robertson’s wildlife art online here – drawn, literally, from the Tentsmuir Nature reserve in Fife.Getting him to Taynish is regarded as somethig of a coup.
To get to the Taynish Nature Reserve – to see the exhibition and to go to the sketching workshop, drive through Tayvallich on Loch Sween and take the left turn at the southwards exit from the village. It’s a slow road, single track and, although metalled, pretty potholed. Take your time and leave enough time.
You will get arrive at a large forest car park.
You walk south from there on south to the exhibition at The Piggery [an experience on its own account both for its stonework and its location] from memory, for around 3 miles – so wear appropriate footwear and protective clothing.
For the workshop at The Mill, take the path running east out of the car parking area, which will take you to The Mill – on the right of the lath – in under 10 minutes.
